EDpuzzle is a quick editing software that educators can use.
It is not an application that can be downloaded on a device. With EDpuzzle,
teachers can make any videos interactive and engaging for students. Teachers
can extract an educational video on YouTube then insert voiceover on the video
chosen. Teachers can ask questions and make a comment about the video that
students should know about.
Students can use EDpuzzle as well. Students can narrate
video, ask questions, or make comments on the video. Students are able to
collaborate with EDpuzzle as a group project. EDpuzzle can be used in a social
studies lesson. For example, I would plan to use EDpuzzle for social studies on
the topic of native Indians for my elementary students. I would find videos
about certain Native Indian tribes that lived in Alabama. Students would find differences
and similarities among each tribe within the video they would watch.
On the other hand, EDpuzzle can be used in a flipped
classroom environment. For example, students would learn and gather information
on certain math problem such as division or multiplication. Teachers could
assess students’ knowledge of the topic by assigning a video that could watch
give them questions they could work out.
Here’s a quick video tutorial of EDpuzzle with integration
of Google Classroom:

What is Blendspace?
It is website and app that teachers can use to deliver a
lesson or presentation. It is interactive because teachers can implement
quizzes, discussion boards, or other compatible documents. Teachers can use
Blendspace as formative and summative assessment. Blendspace is another tool
that can be implemented in a flipped classroom. Students can view the teacher’s Blendspace he
or she created. Students can view the videos, take quizzes, and other
interactive activities within the blendspace. A pro when using Blendspace,
teachers can use another teacher’s blendspace lesson to get ideas or implement
it in your own blendspace.
I plan to use Blendspace in my classroom, especially, for a
science lesson. I want the students to interactively learn so using Blendspace
would achieve that. If my students were going to learn about solids, liquids,
and gas, I would implement videos that I have created with EDpuzzle because I
want it close to as possible where I am directing the teaching. I would implement quizzes and create open
discussion boards. I could easily assess
students’ comments and replies then I could gather other information that the
students might need and implement into the blendspace.

I mean it. Drop whatever you're doing and go check out Blendspace.com right now. (Formerly known as EdCanvas, so don't be confused if you see EdCanvas branding in the videos!) Blendspace is a free web tool for teachers to collect resources in one place to form a bundled, interactive lesson for students or colleagues.
4C’s
Both EDpuzzle and Blendspace, are educational tools that
teachers can use in a flipped classroom. Both tools as well are available for
students to use. Students can collaborate by sharing what they think in
classroom board discussion or voiceover in the videos. Peers can learn by
feeding off each other’s replies and comments. Students can communicate with
each other by working together within one blendspace if they presenting a group
project. Students are able to critically think because if these tools were implemented
in flipped classroom they would have to be prepared for group discussion or
classroom discussion. Basically, the students have to led the instruction with
minimum help from the teacher. Students are creating with Blenspace and
EDpuzzle when collaborating. Students can add links, videos, and images to
their own Blendspace presentation. I am excited to use Blendspace in my future
classroom.
